Principal Consultant, Dr Kate Fitz-Gibbon, co-authors article in The Canberra Times

Principal consultant, Dr Kate Fitz-Gibbon, has co-authored an article with Matt Tyler,
Executive Director of community and systems impact at Jesuit Social Services.

The article, ‘To stop women’s violence deaths, we have to speak to boys’, sets out why efforts to
eliminate violence against women and children must include a focus of young men and
boys.

We must intervene early to reach young men and boys at scale in all the spaces that they
learn, live, play and work in. Importantly, this focus should not come at a cost to victim-
survivors. There is an urgent need to fully fund the scale of crisis responses needed to
secure women’s safety from violence and to support recovery and healing.
