Towards a wraparound housing model for young people experiencing and escaping family violence.

This project examines the current experiences and needs of young people in Victoria seeking housing supports following experiences of family violence. Despite the high prevalence of family violence experienced by children and young people in Victoria, little is known about how different points of service system intersect to respond to children as victim-survivors in their own right.

Recognising that the housing needs of children (aged up to 14 years old) and young people (aged 15 years and over) require substantially different considerations and points of system engagement, this project adopts a focus on young people aged 15 to 18 years old. In doing so, it seeks to build the evidence needed to inform the development of a wraparound housing model for young people experience and escaping family violence.

This project will collect data in three stages

While the data collected for this project will be Victorian specific, the findings will have policy and practice relevance for all Australian states and territories.
